I am not sure that I understand what you are saying here...please clarify, if you would.

I think that the Right is currently pretty convinced of conspiracies as well. All you have to do is listen to talk radio (which I do, and like actually) for an hour or so.

The "skepticism of information" that I am discussing is not really tied to the 9/11 and Bush Derangement Syndrome, but actually an approach to information in general.

To illustrate, think of the last "just thought you should know..." type of email you got. I bet you either a- instantly trashed it, or b- went to snopes.com to verify. Right?

I recently heard a radio commercial that advertised some weight loss pill (I think it was weight loss). It said "A free trial of _____ has been extended to just the listeners of 'this station' for the first 100 callers.'" I immediately thought, "I wonder what other stations this commercial plays on?" and "I bet I would still get it if I was the 103rd caller."

That is the skepticism I am addressing. In other news, I've lost 15 pounds.

I would say "skepticism of information, and an assumption of conspiracies" only for those people on the other side from yourself. I wish people would apply that same criticism to, oh, say... the person they voted for?
